Scrapbook Challenges Pit Stop #2

The fun has started!

Welcome to Scrapbook Challenges first ever DT Blog Hop!

If this is your first time here, I am Sookie aka as Salme in some forums. I am your second stop on the hop.

Do make sure you start from Pamela’s blog to follow the blog hop so that you do not miss out on any inspiration from her. Pamela's blog is oozing of inspiration, gorgeous layouts/cards and stories about her beautiful family! She has been published many times. And just recently, she made it to a manufacturer design team? Woohoo! I am so happy for her! She is very, very talented and I am so glad that I became part of this group she started in 2007!

Our group, Scrapbook Challenges, is in Myspace. Every week, Pamela issues an original sketch to challenge your creative side. Her sketches are awesome, versatile and over the time that I've been with the group, my creativity has grown leaps and bounds because of her sketches. Plus, aside from the sketches, the design team also issues challenges and tutorials every week. In short, Scrapbook Challenges is a one stop-shop.

It doesn't stop there. What's a challenge without a reward? Every month, if you make a layout from the sketch and participate in the DT issued challenges, your name will get to be in a drawing for an awesome prize! (Usually prizes are sponsored by our favorite manufacturers, kit clubs and more.)

So, What are you waiting for? If you're not a member yet, please join us in SC! (after you've completed the blog hop, that is ~~~ you have a few more to go heehee).

I'm rattling too much, right and you want to know whatt's in store for you on this blog hop???

Well,

Then you can post a link here, or on Pamela's blog or in Scrapbook Challenges group. You will get the chance to win this awesome "Glossary" Add-on Kit and Carter
Stamp Set from Studio Calico.

Glossary Add-On Kit :

Carter Stamp Set from Studio Calico:
3. The third RAK requires a little detective work but the prize is the yummy stamp set from Unity Stamp Company:

To join the third RAK, all you have to do is send an emai to
pamelacy@msn.com, with the answers to these questions:

1. Which one of the DT members can taste something from a restaurant 1 - 2 times and recreate that meal? (Such an AWESOME skill by the way)
2. Which member of the DT almost made it to the national fencing team when she was in college?
3. Which DT member daydreams of painting her mustang Barbie pink?
4. Which Scrapbook Challenges DT member was missing from our blog hop this weekend?

And here is my layout based on the sketch:

Remember, you can win a prize by completing a layout based on this sketch! Don't forget to link up!

Some random facts about me :

1. I was a junk food addict! I eat way too much chips (potato, corn, you name it!) that I decided to stop. I've been "sober" for almost 11 months now.
2. My youngest daughter and I look so much alike.
3. I don't like washing the dishes. I can do other household chores with gusto though.
4. I am terrified of cockcroaches that I scream even when I see a dead one.
5. My birthday is a day before my grandmother so I was named after her. Her name is Socorro which means help.

I will also be giving away a RAK. To be in the drawing, please leave a comment telling me which design team did Pamela recently joined. Plus if you want another chance on this rak below, please hop on to my sister's blog --->http://cjalmeda.blogspot.com (it's her birthday today and she's giving away some goodies too!) and give her some loving (please tell her I sent you). *wink*

RAK from me :

Thank you very much for reading this far *wink*... Really happy that you came by!

Now hop on over to the simple and loving mom, Rowena Ortile!

Thankful For

I have a lot of things to be thankful for...

my faith in God who never fails to comfort me when I am down, who let the sun shine after a rainy day...

my family... my husband who still makes me laugh... makes me cry... helps me out... my daughters... whose hugs warms my days... whose presence makes me believe more on the utter goodness of God.

my sister... whose birthday is tomorrow hehehe whom I love... whom I have faith in... who is a great friend when you need a shoulder to cry on...

Ate A... whose help lifts up the burden in our daily lives...

my relatives everywhere in the world whose presence in our lives is a blessing even though we're far away physically...

the material things we're enjoying and will continue to enjoy...

my work... that I still have work to go to... and that it continues to challenge me...

There are more to be thankful for... And we should continue to be thankful for all of them...

***

Please check our Sister C's blog!!! You won't regret it!

Happy Birthday, Sister C!

She's my little sister! Since I didn't grow up with them, I feel so blessed that she came here (after so much persuasion) and live with us.

She's the godmother of Dawter but Bebi A also calls her "ninang". The two girls like to raid her room for junk food and girly stuffs. She indulges them with Happy Meal toys and prizes if they do well in school.

She's my sister, my friend, my scrapbooking buddy! What more can I ask?!

It's her birthday tomorrow, please give her some loving --- do check our her blog, she's giving away some scrapbooking goodies!

Home Sweet Home

One of my Scrap Within Reach's projects for May. This is an altered Ikea frame.

The curtain was adapted from one of my childhood crafts - paper fans! Then, the pot were from a week long debate with myself of whether I could pull it off (does it look like one?". The "soil" from the pot were crumpled cardstocks then I generously poured Ranger's Distress stickles.

This will be hanged at the entrance of our house. My Pre has already given his stamp of approval! Woohoo!

Godmother

Instead of doing an lo about me and my daughters for mother's day, I've decided to create an lo for one of the honorary mothers of my daughters hehehe... She is my sister, and my eldest daughter's godmother, or as they fondly call her, "ninang". Ninang is Tagalog for godmother.

She is one of the most important people in our life. It was only here in Singapore, after 29 years of living apart did we live under one roof and get to know each other's quirks and perks.

Her birthday is also coming up soon. Hmmmm...

This is also my layout for Sketch 142 at Scrapbook Challenges. Check out what the other DTs have created!

I've told you last time about the other awesome activities at Scrapbook Challenges. Marilyn is showcasing a technique using stamps, Kissing Stamps, it's so cool! I would have never thought of that. (Oh, why am I so stamp-challenged!!!)

And then, there's also this week's DT challenges. One of the challenges is by Rowee ---> Word. You have to create an LO using the word "Precious". A sepia photo must be used.

And last but not the least, guess who is Pamela's pick of the week??? No other than my good friend, Mareng M. Incidentally, please check out her blog ---> her 3rd blogoversary blog candy is going on!

Happy Mother's Day

to all mothers out there...

Enjoy your day!

Here's my 20 minute layout using the "AFTER" photo :

This Day

is in Scrapbooking.Com. Please check it out here --- > This Day.

Happy National Scrapbooking Month!

So, it's another year to celebrate this wonderful event. NSD for me is synonymous now to going to MWL to shop and to join the games. Last year was a blast, Cute#1, the ultimate competitor, won us some wonderful prizes! Hehehe. And since she's now in New Zealand, pining away, I don't have anybody to ask to play for me. Haha...

Anyways, I am still happy, managed to win a 12x12 album from KI Memories, 8x8 kit from MM, Prima paper pad (4x6) and my fave, Thickers! I spent so much less than last year but the hoard is still awesome!

So, it's a really happy national scrapbooking month!
