Winter Projects

Christmas Projects

Here are my Christmas projects for Scrap Within Reach.

The ring frame was made of newspapers that I rolled and wrapped. I then wrapped the ring with left-over Christmas wrappers.

For the poinsettias :

1. Cut a 2x1 inches of paper then fold it.
2. Cut a half petal shape out along the fold. The fold on the center makes a nice touch when you glue them together.
3. Repeat until you have 5 petals.
4. Glue the tips of the petals together until you form the poinsettias.
5. Adhere a button on the center.
6. Then, decorate the edges and tips with gold Stickles.

Thank You

This month is the last month with all three of my design teams. I am very thankful for the wonderful opportunities that they have given me. Thank you so much!

Next year will be different for me. I've decided to pursue non-scrapbooking commitments.

But, I will still be scrapping, still be joining challenges.

Thank you so much!

Inspired By

It was an idle day at work (yes, I do have some when my brain cells are just not working and would like to rest heehee) when I stumbled upon Piradee's blog. I have seen her work at the LSS but never really been to her blog until that day and I was amazed, in awe, and now a huge fan of her work.

It was so timely coz Mareng M thought of issuing another challenge for Scrappers At SG. I suggested to lift one of Piradee's work - her awesome calendars. Wrote to Piradee and she was so nice and gracious to us. She'll be judging the best calendar later on!

Here's my take on the challenge.

I used Emerson line from Scrap Within Reach.

Magical Fridays

I love Fridays. I love that I can look forward to a weekend with my family. I love that I can sleep late and not worry about waking up early (though I am waking up early tomorrow to go to the doc!) I find Fridays --- magical.

I leave with some peeks on my SWR projects.

Can you guess what they are? Have a great weekend!

Her Carriage

This is one of my favorite layouts. Love the pumpkins and the concept. Dawter T and I had a photoshoot at Dhoby Gaut station. Good thing, she was game to pose for some photos. But, I can sense that she was a bit embarassed. What can I say but she's growing up?

On SWR Blog

Every week, Scrap Within Reach will feature the DT's creations. And, this week, guess who's on the blog? Hehehe...

The box came when we bought gourmet popcorn at Cathay. Told myself that it can be altered later on so I saved it.

Halloween is just around the corner, though we don't celebrate it here. My scrap buddies and I planned on a Halloween scrapmeet! This is perfect for the Halloween gift swap!

Instructions are up at SWR's blog!

Gong Joo

Very seldom do I scrap about other people in my life. My scrap subjects are usually my daughters. I want to do something for Sister C with the photo below.

Gong Joo is princess in Korean. Fitting for her coz of her love for Korean drama. I added Prima flowers which she loveeeeee so much. Hehe. And after a long while, I finally used paper rolling! Woohoo, I think I'll be using this more on my future projects. It's just so much fun to do!

When I was writing the journal, it strucked me that she's a Princess because her father is the ONE TRUE KING. She has made Jesus the center of her life and I hope she will continue to do so. That she'll be more zealous in facing her challenges --- Aja aja Fighting!

Delayed LO Posts

This is one of my SWR projects last August that I didn't get to post. Was really busy at work before our vacation. This uses Afternoon Tea collection. I used Sketch 159 at Scrapbook Challenges for this layout.

This was taken at Singapore Zoo while waiting for the elephant show.

Up And About

I was feverish last Thursday and went to take a one-day medical leave. Got a bit better (and drowsy due to meds) so I thought I was superwoman and take on Dawter T's birthday as if I am well. Woke up at 6AM to go to mass with Dawter T. Then, cooked some of Dawter T's fave dishes. Even if we didn't really have a party, me in the kitchen means standing the whole time, in front of the stove, washing my hands ~~~ so I guess that would really call for a relapse.

Still managed to go to work on Monday but was already feeling droopy. Got a 1 day medical leave the next day (Yey! No meeting for me!) but still was not feeling better so I went back to the doctor and this time gave me another 2 days. Spent the days sleeping and trying to recuperate.

Still have colds and cough but I don't feel like being cooped at home. So here I am, at the office, blogging, blog hopping, posting at SC and FBing...

Here's last Monday's Sketch 158 at Scrapbook Challenges.

Dawter T is Seven!

Tomorrow.

We're not going to have a big celebration. I hope she'll be happy nevertheless. I decided to make a card for her though she complained that there's no element of surprise anymore as she has already seen it.

Happy birthday to my dear princess! Stay happy!

Baby

She doesn't have much photos unlike Dawter T when she was a baby. It's not because we're not excited but I guess what they say about the second born is true. Hehe. Every month I take a photo of her but she has the same expression on her face.

She's so easy to please. We put her down in the crib and she's good. I miss her babyishness. She's still my baby though.

I love to squeeze her with my hugs at night. Not so afraid that I will squash her like Dawter T. She's got the fats now hehehe Never really thought that she will become the chubby girl she is now.

Doesn't she look sweet in that middle photo? Look at her right cheek, she was munching something there and if you look closely at the photo, you'll see a crumb on her face. Makes the photo more special!

First Day

The very first day of schooling is like first day is the real world. She went to Nursery via bus hehehe at 3 years old. We were very scared (yet excited) so we talked to her about it. She has always been mature for her age. She didn't cry when she took the bus. Though later on she told me that she did shed a tear inside the classroom. I have always been proud of her. I just hope I can get it across her especially when I am scolding her about her school work hahaha

This layout was created using Elliot collection. Shaped the Alphabet Soup patterned paper then paper pieced the scissors, crayon ang bus.

Materials Used :

Scrap Within Reach Elliot Alphabet Soup, Scrap Within reach Elliot Buckwheat, Scrap Within Reach Elliot Building Blocks, Scrap Within Reach Elliot Popsicles, American Crafts Thickers Rockabye

it's a Girl!

Hold your horses! I am not pregnant nor I have given birth (I look like one though hehehe). This is an overdue birth announcement for Bebi A. I have long wanted to create one for "the album" and finally made one using Scrap Within Reach's Afternoon Tea collection. As Bebi A will probably say, "TA DA!!!"

Just a bit of reminiscing... During Dawter T's christening, we hand sewed 60 pcs of cloth diaper (small ones) then inserted the invitation card inside, with matching safety pins. That was what we gave out as invitations. It was a hit with our friends but my fingers were so numb after that hehehe

During Bebi A's, we hand-sewed bibs with pockets where we put the invitation cards.

Are we masochists or what? hehehe Both of those invitations were made with love. *wink*

Materials Used :

Scrap Within Reach Afternoon Tea Chantilly Cream, Scrap Within Reach Afternoon Tea Spiced Plum, Scrap Within Reach Afternoon Tea Raspberry Lace, Bazzil Pink Cardstock, Making Memories safety pin, KI stickers

What a Day!

ABC 123 is POTW at Scrapbook Challenges! It really made my day! Though I woke up with just 4-5 hours of sleep. Bebi A had her asthma episodes so it was a sleepless night, checked her often to make sure she's ok. I took an urgent leave to bring her to the pedia. Then, went home afterwards.

I didn't touch my scrap supplies yesterday. I didn't open my office email. I didn't check my Blackberry. I only watched Season 1 of Private Practice and played Wii with Bebi A. I checked the web for spoilers for the upcoming season of Grey's and Private Practice. Then I cooked dinner. Nothing more, nothing less. I was trying to detress but come night time, I was anxious that my day of rest has come to an end and tomorrow's another day at the office.

But, an email from Mareng M this morning woke me up from laziness. Thanks, Mareng M!

ABC 123

Bebi A was 3 months old here. I can't believe that in 7 days, she will be 4 years old. She continues to be our sunshine, the one who always wakes up with a smile, who makes us laugh with her funny antics, who dances when we ask her to, who likes to follow Dawter T around.

This Ikea frame was altered using Scrap Within Reach Emerson and Elliot lines. The little girl is from Maya Road, and the Jack in the Box was made by moi (don't you just love him? Hehehe...) The balloons were traced from my Dew Drops ink hehehe, the super cute chipboard alphas are from Scrap Within Reach.

The eyes of both the clowns and the little girl are from Doodlebug stickers. I always try to use even the sticker negatives. The little girl's eyes are from the letter the W (the in between hehehe) then I just used my black pen to make the eyes. Dawter T laughed at my doodle, being the high and mighty that she is when it comes to drawing. She wanted me to draw eyelashes and stuff but told her that's the best that I can do and I will stop there in case I make a booboo I will later regret. Hehe.

I am very happy with this frame. And, this will be placed besides all our other frames on top of our computer table. My next project is for Dawter T, she wants a princess themed frame.
