My Love Affair With Made With Love

HOW IT STARTED >> PATTERNED PAPERS
It was not love at firs sight. Mind you, I had control of my emotions (and budget) then. But, there was something about this patterned paper with butterflies in it. It was my eldest daughter's 1st birthday party theme --- butterflies. And, it was so pretty and I had to buy it. I remember this lady named Swee Ching telling me that I could cut the butterflies. I looked but couldn't comprehend, why is she telling me to cut this special paper --- I am going to keep it for life! (To Swee Ching, it's still an uncut 12x12 patterned paper!)

INFATUATION > FRIENDSHIPS

A few days later, I passed by the store at again at Liang Court. I work at UE Square (still am!) so it's accessible. I told myself that I am just taking a peek at the Christmas themed embellishments which would look cool in my gift tags. I shyly stepped into the store, trying to be inconspicuous as possible. As I have said, I had control then so there's a big possibilty that I will leave empty-handed. But, the ladies greeted me with warm "Hi"s and "Hello"s and I, all of a sudden, became very comfortable. Minuted turned into an hour and that day, I left with ribbons and a Carl Craft Christmas Tree puncher. The infatuation became serious that I followed them to Plaza Singapura.

FALLING IN LOVE >> GOOD FOOD

What more can I ask? Scrapbook supplies and good food. Perfect combination. I sooo love the mashed potato with sausages.

HEAD OVER HEELS >> THE COMMUNITY

And, the feeling became serious. Not a day passed when I don't lurk at the forum. Sometimes, I manage to get up the nerve to upload my layouts. And, the community is there to give good advice.***It has been 4 years now and the relationship just keeps getting better, and I don't think I can ever let go.(Thanks for reading!)

Wow! Kristy (one of the owners of FFC) left me a comment earlier that she'll link me up. Decided to blog hop to hers and FFC's blog, look what I found!

That's another to be thankful for!

My Craft 4 d Day

My eldest daughter has been persistent in reminding me that we haven't done this. Well, here's the finish product. Dawter T's shirt was ok but got burned a bit hahaha And for Bebi A, well, the iron-on paper was a bit tricky and couldn't transfer all of it. Not bad for the first try but I need a lot of improvement in the ironing department.

Finally!!!

After 5 domesticated days, I finally managed to create one. I had a hard time because I haven't used paint or ink masking before but now I'm glad I did.

Incidentally, one of the fondest memories I have with my best cousin, Bedette was that she love Oprah. It's just apt that this quote was used on an LO made for her.

Pretty Face

For the world of me, I couldn't think of a title hahaha So I settled for this while a gun was pointing at me. Hehehe Peace, Cute#1!

This is a tribute to my close friend, Cute#1. "Never thought that I could find a good friend as "cute" as you... You always seem to know when to back off hahaha and when to try to push. Love yah!"

This was done before my vacation so I am still LO-less! This is a lift from my Time 2 Play LO, I used the excess materials. But, Cute#1 supplied the MME acrylic.

One LO a Day?

I am 2 week vacation from office work ehem ehem (I just hope "THEY" don't call me and let me do house work in peace hehehe). I've been very excited because first thing that came to my mind was that I can scrap.

*Blag*

Back to reality, NOT!!!

Yesterday was the first day of my "vacation" but housework and my girls were tougher adversaries hehehe Managed to finish a card for one of my friends who are leaving Singapore for good.

Hmmm, although they were tough, it feels really good to do these things. But, I really wish I can start creating stuffs. Here are my to dos :

1. Monograms for office colleagues (ladies only) hehehe
2. My cousin's album

Letting Go

How do you let go of your patterned papers?

I have this bad habit of hording then stacking then hmmm, ok later on, forget about them when the new pps arrive.

It's a bad, bad thing.

It's also hard for me to just let go of my favorites. Sometimes, I buy 2 of each so that even if I use one, I still have a spare to keep. Haha!

Weird me!

Our Story

My Pre's take on this and it made me laugh --- "Your LO looked like Frankenstein!" What does he know, right? He should be happy that I am scrapping our pictures hehehe Seriously though, I love his comments. There are a lot of things I learn from it. Thank you, Pre! And, advance Happy BF-GF Anniversary! Oh so cheesy!

Materials Used :

Bazzil White Cardstock, Basic Grey Phoebe, Daisy Bucket, 3 metal bellies (7 Gypsies) from Marix.

Techniques :

Inked the sides of all the papers. Tore some of them. Stitched the torn part of the cardstock. Sand the edge of the BW photo.

By accident (?), the rubons couldn't transfer completely, maybe because of the paper being crumpled. But I loved how it added to make the LO looked older.

Lyrics from the song HOME

When I think of home, I think of a place where there's love overflowing.

Journal :

Seven years ago, we are but strangers, minding our own separate lives.

But, Lotus Notes stepped in and brought us together.

This is what they call collaboration at its best! --- 2007

side note : Lotus Notes is an email software that Pre and I used at work. Aside from email, it can also be used for collaboration and workflow applications.

Reward for Waiting

Materials Used :

Bazzil Yellow cardstock, KI It's a Girl Word Art, KI It's a Girl Paisley, Making Memories Noteworthy Audrey chipboard, 7 Gypsies Baby Girl Sticker, brads

Journal :

When you were just 3 days old, we found out that your jaundice level was very high. We wouldn't be able to bring you home because you need to undergo phototherapy. Though mommy was discharged, we opted to stay because we don't want to leave you.

However, after 2 more days in the hospital, the level was still high and the bills were piling up. Daddy and Mommy decided to go home first.

The next few days, daddy visited you at the hospital, he brought the milk that mommy pumped. Also during those times, we wait in hope that the doctor will call to tell us that we can bring you home.

Exactly a week after after you were born, the call came!

We rushed to the hospital. Daddy settled the bill and mommy hovered at the nursery while the prepared you. When at last everything was ok and ready, the nurse accompanied us. And while at the lift, you gave us your very first smile --- a reward for waiting to bring you home!

Thankful For

Materials Used :

Bazzil Green (where is the green Bazzil?), Far Flung Craft Batik Pareo, Dream Street Papers Gracie I'm So Big (Lara Ellingson Designs), Ranger Platinum Sticklers, MME Thankful For Rub-ons

I made a huge boo-boo while edging my green Bazzil cardstock so I chalked it all over to hide it hahaha Used sticklers over the FFC's Batik paper --- ohhhh I am so in love with this! But it took awhile for the sticklers to dry.

Journal :

Lifted it from the comment I made at Lia's blog.

Thankful for

2007 which has brought a lot of trials and heartaches, but made my family more united and stronger.

the chance to come back to a less stressful workplace which allows me to go home early and have time to spare to play with my daughters or do some scrapping.
