I Am Not Vain

I just realized that I am not young anymore. I was daydreaming hahaha about what I would like if I slimmed down (20kg slimmer). Will I look like the young girl they usually mistake me for 5-7 years ago. Talk about vanity! Hahaha...

Sometimes, I look in the mirror to see if I have lines. You know, the one that comes with age. And, I do have! Wahhh... And, and, and I don't look young anymore even though I shortened my hair.

In my workplace, I am one of the "older" colleagues. Thus, I feel OLD. I am the one with the 8 year old while they're pregnant with their first babies or their baby just turned one. Hehehe.

I guess it's a matter of acceptance. When there are times I wish I am still 25. I am also happy that I am now 35. That my daughter is turning 8 soon. I just can't get over that I am 20kg bigger than when I was 25! Hahaha!

Hope everyone will have a great weekend!

Thank You

It's hard for me to create cards even if there's a sketch. Frequently, I paper piece on my cards. Well, here's my card for a very special friend. I am sending this via air mail tomorrow. Hope she likes it!
P.S.
And yes, I used Webster Pages. Hihihi.

July Madness

Couldn't believe how fast the days in July was/is. It's nearing August and I have to complete 2 more projects to get in the good graces of my boss (HeeHee!) There are so many plans/tasks at work and I am waiting impatiently for answers. My life this second half of the year will probably take a turn. Scrapbooking will keep me sane, I know it will!

I have some projects that I need to do, projects that I want to do. But, I need space in the literal sense. I don't have much at home and I'm sure my husband is a ticking bomb on this area. If I catch him in a really bad mood and he sees the mess, some of my supplies will probably be ermmm compromised as he has plans to put them in the store room *sigh*. Hahaha. Arghhh... I am planning to housekeep soon. And, I am keeping my eyes closed for now (maybe this moment until I am tempted again). I really need to use my supplies and save. Hehe.

And allow me to plug a bit, there's still time to register to Pamela's class at Scrapbook Challenges. It'll be fun!

Sketch 210

The weekend was fun and relaxing even though I took part in 5km run and assisted at a Catechism class at church. Staying at home, playing, reading books took the angst of going back to work on Monday (that's today!)
One of the last few pictures I want to scrap of Dawter T's Chinese Dance competition. Please forgive me that I only used 3 pictures. I tried and tried to combine pictures but couldn't find any to use. I love the upper left part if I may say so. The Prima swirls were from Cousin B, it's the tail of the butterfly. Haha. Using old Basic Grey papers --- Infuse and Periphery. If you're at a lost, Basic Grey will help you find the way. *wink* I am using these papers to wave away my guilt of buying a few (*cough* around 10) BG papers this July. Couldn't help but fall in love with the new lines Olivia and Oliver; and also bought some Capella.
What is it with papers and ME??? I just can't resist them! Hehe. Hope you have a great week ahead! Mine started with a server down but I am staying positive that it'll be a beautiful week. *wink*

One OFF My Bucket List

Well, I have never written a list but it's in my heart. The things I need to do, I want to do. Like writing my own tele-novela (no kidding!!!), I used to daydream about that being shown in Kapamilya channel. For me, 2010 has been about fulfilling dreams.

And I am very glad to say that I did tick off one from my bucket list. To join in a 5km run. Well, I was supposed to join Standard Chartered's 10km run last year but there were "outside forces" that hindered that dream (read as : hubby nagging me that I am not in shape hahaha). But this year, since it was just 5km, and it was a few days after my birthday, I guess it's his birthday gift to me.

Yesterday, we jogged, we walked, we laughed then we ran with the other ladies who joined Shape Run 2010. It was a camaraderie like no other since you're all ladies. And, since we're not vying for any place hahaha... It was a fun run/walk. And, I am really fulfilled.

Thank you, Lord that it didn't rain and I didn't collapse even when I was so hungry. Hahaha... Thank you to my wonderful sponsor, my hubby for taking care of the girls while I was out. Hehehe.

Sketch 209

I was supposed to post this up last Monday but the birthday girl has to celebrate. Hehe. Well, not really celebrate but to tinker on Pre's gift. He bought me a sewing machine! And, He was so excited to use. Yes, you read it right, HE!!! Hahaha...

Here's this week's sketch at Scrapbook Challenges. This is my new love --- Echo Park papers. I love the colors and the fun design. The tree is a sticker and part of the collection. As for the bike, I just printed an image to some scraps and handcut it.

Thirty-Five

This won't be a scrappy post. I would just like to share a bit of me today through writing.

I turned 35 today. I don't feel a year older nor wiser, LOL. But, I learned a lot through all these 35 years. Like how my life has been blessed and that I shouldn't regret anything, even a tiny bit of what had happened so far. I am blessed to be called a daughter of the Almighty. From the moment I was born, He has shaped my life to what it is now.

I turned 35 today. I love my husband and children more than my life. They are my today and tomorrow. I love the times we spend together. Though there are moments of indifferences when my husband is busy with his Iphone Apps or my girls are too busy playing Nintendo DS hahaha I know that I am still the wife/mom they would look for later on when the battery runs out.

I turned 35 today. I love the family who brought me up. We're a close knit family and I am very thankful for that. Life has sure been fun with all the childhood games, the summer outings, the love.

I turned 35 today. All these years, I've had friends who's always there, who always remember me for no reason at all. Whom I can laugh, cry with. And no matter the distance, our thoughts synched up the moment we touch base. And, I thank the new friends I meet "offline" and "online". You have made my world colorful.

I turned 35 today. Thank you for the work that has bought me scrapbooking materials. Hehehe. Of course, that's the top of my list. Seriously, though I want to scream and pull my hair sometimes, I am thankful for the opportunites that my current company gives me.

I turned 35 today. Thank you to all who stopped by and read this. I've been blessed to have you celebrate with me.

The Bravest Thing I've Ever Done

The voting has started! Please hop over at THE STUDIO to vote for your favorite layout!

Here's my original journal which I wasn't able to fit in the baggages. LOL!!! Just so I can share my feelings about this. The challenge was really a challenge for me. Because I don't consider myself as daring.

*****

24 years was too long to lead a secure life... Most of the time, I didn't have to worry about what I was going to eat because I know by the time I reach home from work, there will be food on the table waiting for me... Or if I have clean clean clothes to wear... That time, tomorrow was just another day... I couldn't and shouldn’t ask for anything more.

But, something within me was uncertain, there was a desire to be on my own… To start my life… It was scary yet exhilarating.

The opportunity came knocking. I thought about it. At home, I had control. If I go, I would be losing myself in CHANGE and I am not that person who easily adapts to change. I battled with myself internally. Should I go or not? Should I leave family and friends behind? In that new world, there will be challenges unknown, barriers to counter yet deep inside, I know I will find myself, my purpose.

It’s time to become an adult. To make decisions for my life. To clean up my mess later on. And no matter how scared I was, I decided to go. I went without knowing my destination… I was not prepared… It was just time to become an individual. I needed to go and leave the only life I’ve known so that I can fulfill my hopes and dreams.

Eventually, I got to know myself… That I can do laundry (I was really scared of handwash, I don't know why! Thank you to washing machine!), I can cook "edible" food, I can take care of myself. LOL! That I can face this new world heads on. I met new people, seen new sights. It was not scary after all. It was my life’s greatest adventure.

***

Just can't resist to add to the story...

On my way to Singapore, I met my husband on a training we had to take before we start work. It's fate. Hahaha.

And this card is from the left-overs. I used 3 Webster Pages' patterned papers. The background of the layout was called NEW DISCOVERIES. It was so fitting for the theme of my page. Hahaha. The flowers (my staple these days) added color to the card and not to mention the little girl on the swing. When I look at her, it feels like life is so simple to dwell on stuffs. And, that's what I am going to do. Let go of things I can't change (wink to Cute#1) and enjoy the process.

Good luck to all the contestants. Amazing entries by the other 7 girls. I feel so privileged! Thank you, Amanda for this experience and opportunity!!!

Play

I am so happy that I finally scrapped. Ok, my mojo had a leave, what with Bebi A's and Pre's birthdays. Then, last Saturday, I was busy with a server upgrade. Ohhhh, it feels so good to finish a layout! Woohoo! The layout is based on Sketch 207 at Scrapbook Challenges.

This layout is for the challenge at ScrapFIT. It's one of the challenge blogs that I always blop hop on to. This is my first time to join them and for this Workout #23, you have to make something handmade. I made two vellum handmade roses. I had wanted to try these handmade roses on a vellum since I started making these. I thought it would not look good but Bebang tried it and her vellum roses were pretty! I used my Webster Pages's Seaside Retreat vellum scraps for the handmade roses.

The Studio

A few weeks ago, I've had this urge to try out at The Studio DT Contest. I submitted one of my favorite layouts and I got very lucky to receive the "call back". Thank you to Amanda and all the current DT members of The Studio for giving me this chanceBold. I am really blessed to be in the Lucky 8.

The challenge is on... We have to scrap about the bravest thing we ever did... Since I saw the email this morning, I kept thinking of what would I scrap about. I am not the bravest chick out there. In fact, I consider myself otherwise --- running away from insects when I see them, chickening out on bunjee jumping, and the list goes on... Haha...

I know what I want to scrap about. I have an idea. I just need to put them in paper. Hehe.

Wish me luck...

A Little Bit Of Sweetness

My Bebi, a few minutes after she woke up this morning. I can't believe she's 5! She's still my baby and probably will stay as such till forever. Hehehe. We had a busy weekend and I have no layout to share. Huhu. But the most important thing is my Bebi enjoyed her whole birthday celebration. We will have a simple dinner later tonight at home (as I will be working tonight arghhhhhhhhhh).

Thank you, Lord for another year. Thank you for giving me this sweet and beautiful girl --- inside and out. I love you, Bebi A!
-o-

I asked Bebi A to give me a number from 1 to 9. And, here's her choice... Drumroll please................

8

I asked the celebrant, why 8? Her only reply was I like 8! Duhhh... Hahaha After checking the number 8 comment, found out that it's LILIPUT!!! Congratulations Liliput!

I also want to announce the winner for chosen title... I love all your title suggestions and thank you for taking the time to comment. I really, really appreciate it!

The chosen title is the title of this post.

A LITTLE BIT OF SWEETNESS by JOLANDA

I promise to use the title very, very soon. It's perfect for my Bebi's picture which we took during her school celebration. I hope I can get time to sit down and create again. Hehehe. Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday!

To Liliput and Jolanda, please drop me an email at totallydoodles@gmail.com with your home address and email.

I'll be sending the non-winners (Bebang, Margaret, Dress to Scrap, KatMarie, Benga, Jenn, Iszalil, Kerri) a little something in the mail, please also send me your addresses at totallydoodles@gmail.com.

Again, thank you very, very much!!!

75

Wow! Those are also the number of followers this blog has. And, that's my Bebi's birth date 7.5. Hihi. I think it's time for a thanksgiving giveaway.

I am running out of titles for my girls' layouts and it would be great if you can suggest one as long as it does not contain these three words --- "Girl", "Princess", "Pretty" hehehe... Please post your suggestion on the comment section and I will ask the birthday girl on the 5th (2:11 PM) to randomly choose a number between 1 and nth (nth being the total number of title suggestions).

What you will get in return.

7 patterned papers
5 items that you use to stamp (mix of stamps and inks)
8 items that stick (*wink* stickers, glue tape, rub-ons)
19 items that you can use to embellish (mix of flowers, ribbons, brads, buttons, die cut chipboards, etc.)

And, lastly... Will choose a title from your suggestions and will use it on my next layout. The "chosen one" will get a $15USD voucher that you can use at Scrapbook Deals 4 U.

Thank you!

Four

It's a brand new month at Scrappers AT SG and the July Angels are challenging you to stamp, emboss and create handmade flowers!

My Bebi who's no longer a Bebi is turning 5 on the 5th. Time flies so fast. And, she's growing up to be her own person. She's making decisions now. Hehe. Oh, I love this little girl so much.

>

Anyway, this layout took 5 hours to prepare but took me 30 minutes to execute. I couldn't find a photo of Bebi A. I've been scrapping Dawter T's photos that I haven't been printing solo pictures of Bebi A. (and last night my ink ran out), from my stack of papers --- none of them appealed to me last night, it has to compliment with the gold-embossed frame. So Webster Pages pp to the rescue! I guess, it's my go-to paper these days. And, of course since I was running out of time hahaha I was only able to make one paper flower (the green one) which I misted and "stickled", the pink roses are mulberry flowers. No other paper were used aside from the Webster Pages background paper and the paper rose which was made from scraps.
