Day 12 : Funnies

After a very LONG day...

Dawter T to Bebi A : Who Are You? (do you think she got amnesia because she was so tired?)

Bebi A : I am A, your sister...

Hahaha...

Day 7 : Different Answers

But answers, nonetheless.

Last night, I prayed that my meeting will get cancelled. Hahaha. Well, it didn't. But, my team meeting went well.

Tuesday, 7 December 2010

Day 6 : Hang Over

Every Monday, my body feels so tired. My spirit is still in bed sleeping. It's definitely weekend hang over. Don't you notice that there's a lot of absences on Mondays. So maybe, I am not the only one feeling this. Hehe.

Day 5 : Pressing The Wrong Button

We usually have instances in our daily lives when we press the wrong button of a person. However, it's a good thing that there's a reset button as well, we can start anew by saying sorry...

Day 4 : Simple Pleasures

The girls went to a party... Afterwards, we passed by the playground and asked if they can play on the swing. Later on, they saw a Labrador.

Looking at the two of them, with simple needs and wants, I couldn't help but feel the joy of having them in my life. Despite the fact that they do asks for things, they don't throw tantrums if we cannot give it to them. And, most of the time, it's the simple things that make them very happy... Like playing with dogs, going to the playground or just hanging out...

Day 3 : Appreciate

With all the buzz that the world has created, sometimes we don't stop and think about the people we love. That a day shouldn't pass by without telling them I love you.

Let me just share this overwhelming love for the 3 closest people in my heart.

My husband. We are not perfect. In fact, we always argue, bicker... But, I love you. You have a way to put a smile on my face. You take care of me. You tell me things I don't want to hear and put up with the frown that forms in my face when I hear that I'm wrong. Only you can put up with that.

Dawter T. You are not showy. You quietly observe. But, you have a BIG heart. You don't want other people to be hurt. You always give and try to understand. You achieve more than we can hope for. You are the little lady we hope you to be. (Don't let mommy's scolding tell you otherwise. Hehehe)

Bebi A. What can I say but just seeing you smile makes our world happy? You are the sunshine amidst the cloudy days. Your hugs are medicine for a painful day.

Day 2 : Routine

We wake up and our hands instinct is to look for that mobile phone we've parted for a few hours. It sometimes takes precedence to "Good morning, God. Thank you for this beautiful day!" Technology has crept up in our lives.

I see my two daughters sleeping peacefully. I say good bye to my husband as he goes to work. I then prepare for work. Though we drag our feet to do all these. The routine has kept us sane. When life has thrown us some quirks, a part of us long for routine. I guess change and routine in inevitable part of life. One doesn't exist without the other. Or else, we'll be suffocated and overwhelmed.

But, I have to change the precedence. Before I turn on my phone, I have to greet God and thank Him for the wonderful day ahead.

note : all these will go to the december daily

Day 1 : Blessings Abound

Let me tell you about my December Daily.

I was supposed to finish it up but my two hands were bound by work during the weekend and early this week.

Nothing to show but thoughts to share...

Day 1 :

My family and I welcoming December with open arms. There's a lot to be thankful for. Lots to be happy about. This is definitely different from my sullen rantings from the past. Hehe. No, we didn't win the lotto. But, we were blessed much more than we can ask or imagine right now and all we can utter is "Thank you, Jesus".

Life sure has a way of sneaking up on you. Good and bad, part of the package of life. We just have to deal, accept and let God.

Rainy Days and Tuesdays

It's the last day of November. Tomorrow should be fun, the start of December Daily! Yipee!!! And I have only finished my cover!

Been so busy these past week, worked late, worked during the weekend and crammed 2 server upgrades yesterday before my colleagues in the US come back to work. Whew!

Was not able to sleep well, kept thinking about work... Woke up thinking about work... And took me an hour before I can check my email from my Iphone (bored with my story yet? hehe) -- I was that scared to find an email from boss! Haha... There was but it was ok.

Tuesdays mean a late night meeting for me... I am so tired. And, I have to finish a project to post tomorrow. Cramming again... What else is new? *grins*

Food Love

I love food. There's no denying that. And, sharing it with one of my BFFs was extra special. We had seafood and it was sooooo good.
On a related note... *grin* When I was in California, I was in search of the best Strawberry Lemonade that can top the one at Red Robin. Yum!!! I think I ordered that in all the restaurants we went to.

Thomas Edison

He was asked how he felt on the 10,000 failures before finally lighting up the first light bulb.

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work"

Sketch 229

I was a bit intimidated by the sketch. I've been thinking on how I can blend the pictures with the trees. But, I know that this is the paper that I will use.
And then, out of the blue, I thought why not make a no-photo layout. Thus, the dresses/pants above. Then, I couldn't find the perfect alphas but I know that I want to convey that "life is good" with this layout. I kept thinking about Matthew 6:25-28 ---> “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

I've been worried a bit (a lot!!!) lately. If the new software version will work in mixed environment. Will we encounter problem? And, God has been so good about reminding me not to worry, that everything's gonna be alright....

December Daily Cover

Here's my simple cover. This is a Maya Road Chipboard album which I altered using Webster Pages. The design is very similar to my layout, Shine... It's one of my favorite layouts this year and I just had to scraplift it. Hehe...

I have a week to go to fill the album up and I have only finished one page. Oh well... When there's a will, there's a way.

Do link up if you're joining the fun. Would love to hear your December Dailies...

December Daily

I am taking part this year. 2010. What urged me was my not so good day yesterday. So, to take my mind off my boss who was asking questions that I don't have the answer at the moment and my daughter who was throwing up every time she eats. (my daughter was watching tv at this point hehehe) I started the cover of my December Daily. I still have no idea what to put inside though hihihi...

I am using my OLD Webster Pages stash. And I just realized that I might run out. I am crossing my fingers that I don't have to touch my new ones hahaha (so that I can use my new ones next year --- that seemed to be my phase as I am still using Christmas 2009 WP papers).

I managed to put the title on the cover page. But, I need add some more blings and flowers and swirls and cut-outs... Can't wait to go home!

Tuesday, 16 November 2010

Sketch 228

Work has taken its toll. It's on my mind 24x7 (oki, it's a bit exaggerated hehehe but I couldn't sleep much and kept on thinking about my project at work). I can't wait for December when there are no decisions to be made, no boss to be scared of, no tantrums to pacify, no very late night meetings to attend to.

Sorry for the rant. Here's sketch 228. I was very excited to do this then when I sat down last Friday, I couldn't find the right papers. I ended up choosing Basic Grey which later on, I felt it doesn't suit the pics. It looked dark. Oh well. (see first para --- my scrapbooking is affected!)

Sketch 227

This is a combination of Jillibean Soup and MLS. Funny but I think this is my first or second time to use their papers. And, I love how they can be combined together. The papers are not Christmasy but love the houses from MLS and the background papers from Jillibean. (Funny how I made sure that I still have one more left of that brown paper from Jillibean - I am a hoarder - forever!)

I woke up feeling refreshed. Praying, praying as I download my mails to my phone. And God has once again delivered me and my colleague. I am happy to start the day without a scolding. Hahaha...

Sketch 223 : Age of Innocence

My eldest daughter is just 8 years old but thinks like 13. Sometimes I get scared of the things she talks to me about. Her dad is more liberal. He talks to her like an adult. For me though, I want her to be my baby forever. I try not to expose her violence but she gets that from watching cartoons (hahaha!) Hello, cartoons nowadays are different during my time. Her dad even told me that she got curious about the mating of some animals that they watched in Animal Planet so the best thing to do is not to let her watch tv!!! Hehehe!

I Want To Remember These Moments

I think it was last week when Bebi A said these while we were waiting for dinner to be served --- "Powk steak, come to Momma!" Hilarious, isn't she? She's 5 and she still can't pronounced her "R"'s. These are the moments I want to remember and look back. I'm sure when I am 90 years old, I'd laugh out loud when I remember this incident.

Tame

Wow! It feels so good to scrap. The papers are from Echo Park. I forced myself to go bright and cheerful. I am proud of those MR swirls which I covered with EP papers. And yes, I love those doily edge punch from Martha Stewart. I think that's my new fave!

This is for Jolanda's challenge at SC. Check it out! You will love her challenge!!!

Good To Be Back

Though slightly jet-lagged... I felt that my body clock had adjusted better this time than the last time I was in the States.

Looking back, I had a very depressing first 4 days, I was sleepy, "dinner-less" and was welcomed at the hotel by some creature which I don't particularly like from the insect world. Hehe. It did a 360 though by Thursday and from then on, my trip went by fast. Couldn't believe that 20 days had passed... tsk tsk... I felt I did nothing most of the time, most days I went directly to the hotel, watched my fave shows (yahooo!!!) Most of my friends asked me WHY I DIDN'T SHOP??? hahaha I am asking that myself but I only have to look at my wallet for the answer. Hehe...

Went to Las Vegas on my first weekend. Got the chance to go to M&M store hehehe. Also won 30+bucks at the slot machine. Not bad. That's for my taxi fare from the airport to the hotel in Austin. Hahaha.

Then my second weekend (+ 3days hehehe) was spent with my relatives and friends in San Francisco. A few hours after the plane touched down SFO, my cousins and I went on a night cruise. Went to Treasure Island, Giant's stadium and ate sundae at Ghirardelli. Afterwards, I was snoring at car already while they pass by Union Square. Couldn't keep my eyes open. In my defense, I just came from Austin and there's time difference. Hahaha.

The next day (Saturday), despite sleeping late. I met up with one of my BFFs and we went to Monterey. Had so much fun catching up with her, friendships like that are very rare, time and distance doesn't matter. We ate yummy seafood at Monterey then cruised 17th Mile Drive! Monterey and Carmel is very beautiful, it made me miss my husband and daughters. Wish they were there with me.

Sunday, we were surprised by my cousin whom we were supposed to surprise... We were planning to give her a surprise mini-shower... We were supposed to have our nails done together. Well, she had hers in the morning. The bride to be had to wait for me and my cousin R while we had our pedicure hahaha But, in the end, we had a great time eating at Elephant's Bar (so much food --- gluttony, I tell ya!) and buying stuffs at Target! Love my pink Cutterbee scissors! Then, we ended up oohing and ahhing cousin B's scrap nook. So much toys and goodies to play with!

The next day (Monday), we were up early to attend my beautiful cousin's wedding! Still can't get over the yummy fries I had during the reception!!! Hahaha...

SFO's city hall was so beautiful, I just wished that cousin R and I were able to see the mayor! Hahaha... I am so happy for Cousin B and Kuya P!

I really had so much fun and I have to thank my grandma, aunts/uncles, and cousins for it. My colleagues said that I am darker. Well, well, I seem to bring the sun/heat in Austin and San Francisco. The day I left, the fog rolled in. Hahaha...

Scrapbooking In Austin

was possible. That is, after drinking coffee. Hahaha. Managed to create a layout for sketch 218 for Scrapbook Challenges. Now I realized how scrapbooking helps me relax. It really did.

G
Trust Webster Pages to save the day! I didn't have alphas, that's one thing I forgot to pack. So I made do with some of the text in an old WP paper.

It's so good to scrapbook!!!

Jet Lag

is my biggest nemesis today. Slept in the afternoon and now I AM WIDE AWAKE. It didn't help that I didn't mute my laptop earlier when I was trying to sleep. I kept hearing the ting, bing, ling... Hehehe...

Nothing scrappy but I am so excited with what Cousin B gave me!!! A Tattered Angels kit!!! I can't wait to get started. Maybe tonight unless I find my way to Joanns or somewhere else.

Cramming!?!

Yes, I am. Just finished packing my suitcases... My luggages are ready BUT I AM NOT... Huhuhu... 20 days is too long to be away from my family...

Finished this layout for September 10 challenge at SC --- By The Numbers...

Here's the challenge...

1 photo
4 kinds of embellishments
3 different stamps

The twist is to use a photo of you with someone you love (not necessarily with your spouse/partner... It could be a photo of you and your mom, you and your pet...)

Can't wait to see your take on the challenge!!!

Blessings

First thing I read this morning is about my BIG God who is the God of small things too! So, no wonder it's a prologue of what's going to happen the whole day. I tend to be NEGA (major, major) and I am trying to swing that around and be more positive, not to be stressed with small things.

Anyway, I WON, I WON at Scrappers AT SG's Challenge #36. Thank you so much Beband and her hubby, Benjo for picking my layout. The layout, Shine, is my everyday affirmation. It's now pinned on my wall and will be there forever. Hehehe. When I am down, I know this will motivate me to be better and to know that God is just by my side, cheering me on.

And, I didn't get any stressful emails from my boss. That's a huge blessing for me. The moment I wake up, that's the first thing that comes to my mind. If I have the dreaded email or will my day be awesome because there's none. My boss is not an ogre, he's actually quite nice. But, it's so hard to please someone far, far away. Hahaha.

Anyway, writing this made me affirm that I have to let go of those negative thoughts. And, I know the solution to that. PRAY. *wink*

Shine

Finallllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.... I've managed to scrap after 2 weeks... It really is a great feeling to be with my papers again hahaha

This is my entry to Scrappers AT SG's Challenge #36 by Bebang and sponsored by Made With Love. This is inspired by a layout created by Ingvild Bolme - so in love with her work!

I always start my day by reading Today's Word by Joel and Victoria Osteen. This particular reading inspired me so much that I keep a copy of it in my bag. I plan to put this in my workstation so that I will remember that with God's help, I can overcome anything.

Life Is Sweet

I was privileged to be asked by one of my scrap idols and friend, Pamela, to create a layout based on my thoughts about one age or another. It was published in one of the leading E-Zines, Scrapstreet.Com last July. Thank you so much, Pamela for the chance!

I thought long and hard. Sorry for the photo, it's a photo I use everywhere. But, it coincided with the age I wanted to scrap about --- when I was 33.

A lot of things happened when I was 33 --- new home, new job, new country to see, etc...

Journaling:

I will always remember that year, when I was 33.

It was that year when everything fell into place.
A wonderful family life with a loving husband and two happy daughters.
We've secured a home loan and moved to our own home.
A career that took a turn for the better when I joined NI.
A business trip to the USA. It was a dream come true to finally go there.
Went to Austin for work, Orlando and San Francisco to meet up with family and friends.
Finally got to see Disneyworld!
Got in to 3 Scrapbook Design Teams.

I will always remember that year, when I was 33.
When my dreams came true.
When I felt all things were possible.
If you fervently wish, when you pray hard.
When life's tough, I will remember that year, when I was 33.

Tips and Tricks :

Tore and rolled the patterned paper to give dimension on the page. Dipped a stick in TA Glimmer Mist then used that to ink the edge of the torn papers.

Birthday Girl's Choice

Thank you for all your birthday wishes! We had fun celebrating at the beach, my daughter had loads of fun playing with the sand and water. The birthday girl's choice is :

RuthMarieIan!

Earlier today, we went to church for mass, she told us that she prayed for good weather and that her two close friends will come to her party.
Both her wishes came true! Sometimes I wish I had child-like faith... So I asked her to pray for me to win the lottery. *wink*

I am really getting bad at thinking of titles but in my defense, I had to think of this in the last 10 minutes of the 1st layout during the class. Hehehe.

Here's my take. And let me repeat it, I really LOVE this technique class. I really learned a lot! If only I am willing to get dirty in the comforts of my home, hahaha...

Should I GO?

I am trying to save (A LOT!!!) because September is gonna be a big month for me. But, these (below) will be available at 11AM today at my LSS. Huhuhu...

I want to have these and especially THESE (been waiting for them) drool, sigh and another sigh... Then, I saw these (I know, I know, I probably won't use these hahaha but a girl can be a glutton sometimes)...

Then, I scrolled down and found these babies (just the stamps) and THESE (how cute is that reindeer eh)!!!

Arggghhh, life is not fair! Good thing it's raining or else my LOW-EQness will make me ride that express bus during lunch time to go to my LSS!!!

I attended a class at Laine's last night! And, I had loads of fun! It's a technique class and the OC in me just took a leave for 3 hours. I love, love it! Thank you so much, Shirley for being patient with me! Hehehe...

I especially like the almost no-pattern paper layout that we did. We used 4-5 distress inks, water and StazOn cleaner. For my scrapper friends who knows me very well, they would be surprised that I did all these. Not that my layouts are super neat, it's just that though I have mediums, I don't normally use them because I hate cleaning up afterwards hahaha

I'll try to take picture of the layout but I am on scrapping high. Hopefully, this will last me for awhile... I will leave you with the freebies I got from the class. (now you know why I am so happy!!! hahaha)

My take on the Scrapbook Challenges' Round Robin. Kudos to Jamie who organized this fun, fun event. There were a lot of teams and managing everything takes time and patience! Thank you, Jamie!

Used Prima Mommy & Me. Finally!!!!! Do you see that blue sheer swirl? Well, a bit disappointed on how it turned out hehehe but nevertheless, it's a step for me in using mediums hahahaha

Sketch 213

Quirky, Fun, Haughty, Serious are just few of Dawter T's traits. She can be serious especially if she's in the thinking mood, but she can be wacky and quirky when the occassion calls for it.

This is for Sketch 213 at Scrapbook Challenges. Hope you can join us this week! Also, the Color Challenge at SC is still ongoing and those that submits a layout with sepia photo will get an Imaginisce stamp!
